Travelers to the renowned Vietnamese tourist destinations of Hoi An and Hue, who are arriving in nearby Danang on international flights, may now arrive at and depart from Terminal 2; Danang’s new $154 million international terminal.
The 21,000 square meter and energy-efficient facility, which can accommodate 1,600 passengers at peak hours, maximizes the use of natural light and features a modern design. The 860 square meter business class lounge in the terminal’s third level, accommodates over 180 passengers.
Terminal 2 of Danang’s international airport was put into operation mid-May, following over two years of construction. Vietnam Airlines, JetStar Pacific, and AirAsia were among the first carriers who began operating their international flights from the new terminal. The remaining international airlines will gradually move their operations to the new terminal in the near future.
With the new international terminal featuring 40 check-in and 42 immigration counters, Danang’s airport is now equipped to serve the estimated 6 million passengers expected by 2030.
